       All Is Lost is a 2013 American survival film written and directed by J. C. Chandor. The film stars Robert Redford as a man lost at sea. Redford is the only cast member, and the film has almost no dialogue. All Is Lost is Chandor's second feature film, following his 2011 debut Margin Call. It screened out of competition at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival in May. The soundtrack features ten original compositions and one new song all written, composed, and produced by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros’ frontman Alexander Ebert.

      12 Years a Slave is a 2013 historical drama based on the 1853 autobiography Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northup, a free black man who was kidnapped in Washington, D.C. after being lured from Saratoga Springs, New York in 1841 and sold into slavery. He worked on plantations in the state of Louisiana for 12 years before his release. The first scholarly edition of Northup’s memoir, co-edited by Sue Eakin and Joseph Logsdon in 1968, carefully retraced and validated his account, finding it to be remarkably accurate. The film is directed by Steve McQueen and written by John Ridley. Chiwetel Ejiofor stars as Solomon Northup. 12 Years a Slave premiered at the       Telluride Film Festival on August 30, 2013. The film is scheduled to be commercially released on October 18, 2013.

       Machete Kills is a 2013 American exploitation action film written and directed by Robert Rodriguez. The film will be the third based on Grindhouse fake trailers; the first were Machete and Hobo with a Shotgun. Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Tom Savini and Michelle Rodriguez will be reprising their roles from the first film, and are joined by series newcomers Demián Bichir, Sofía Vergara, Amber Heard, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Zoe Saldana, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding Jr., Alexa Vega, William Sadler, Marko Zaror, Mel Gibson, and Charlie Sheen.

       The film will follow the titular ex-federale (Trejo) as he is recruited by the U.S. President (Sheen) to stop an arms dealer (Gibson) and a revolutionary (Bichir). The film is set to be released on October 11, 2013.

Plot

       Danny Trejo returns as former Mexican Police detective-turned-spy Machete, who is recruited by U.S. President Rathcock (Charlie Sheen) to stop madman revolutionary Mendez (Demián Bichir) from launching a deadly missile aimed at Washington, D.C. However, Machete soon learns the real threat is an international criminal organization led by eccentric billionaire arms dealing terrorist named Luther Voz (Mel Gibson), who has launched a conspiracy to start riots in every country.
