      Mud is a 2012 American coming-of-age film written and directed by Jeff Nichols. The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Tye Sheridan, Jacob Lofland, and Reese Witherspoon. The film competed for the Palme d'Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. It was shown at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2013, and is scheduled to have a limited release in selected theaters on April 26, 2013.

Premise

      Mud is a fugitive who becomes friends with Arkansas teenagers Ellis and Neckbone. The fugitive attempts to reunite with his love Juniper, and the teenagers help him evade the authorities.
