     Les Misérables is a British musical drama film produced by Working Title Films and distributed by Universal Pictures. The film is based on the musical of the same name by Alain Boublil, Claude-Michel Schönberg and Herbert Kretzmer, which is in turn based on Les Misérables, the 1862 French novel by Victor Hugo.

     The film is directed by Tom Hooper, scripted by William Nicholson, and stars an ensemble cast led by Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe. Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter and Aaron Tveit also star in a supporting roles. The film tells the story of Jean Valjean, a former prisoner who becomes mayor of a town in France. Valjean agrees to take care of Cosette, the illegitimate daughter of Fantine, and must avoid being captured again by Javert, a police inspector.

     Development of Les Misérables began in the late 1980s. After the musical's 25th Anniversary concert, producer Cameron Mackintosh announced that the film resumed development. Hooper and Nicholson were approached in March 2011 and the main characters were cast in 2011. Principal photography of the film commenced in March 2012, and took place in various locations in Winchester and Portsmouth in Hampshire, England, as well as Paris in France.

Les Misérables is scheduled to be released on 25 December 2012 in the United States and on 11 January 2013 in the United Kingdom.

Plot

    Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman), a Frenchman imprisoned for stealing bread, has broken his parole and must flee from police Inspector Javert (Russell Crowe). The pursuit consumes both men's lives, and after two decades on the run, Valjean finds himself in the midst of the 1832 June Rebellion in Paris.

     Django Unchained is a Western film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film stars Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kerry Washington, and is scheduled to be released on December 25, 2012 in the United States and Canada. Principal photography started in California in November 2011, Wyoming in February 2012, and at the National Historic Landmark Evergreen Plantation in Wallace, Louisiana, outside of New Orleans in March 2012.

     Django Unchained is set in the Deep South, and follows Django (Foxx), a freed slave who treks across America with Dr. King Schultz (Waltz), a German dentist turned bounty hunter. The title and setting of the film appear to be inspired by the 1960s spaghetti western Django and its many unofficial sequels, with original Django star Franco Nero having a cameo.

Plot

     Django (Jamie Foxx) is a slave living in the Deep South after having been separated from his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington). When Django is held for a slave auction, Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz), a bounty hunter, frees Django from his vicious masters, the Speck brothers (James Remar and James Russo) and gives him the option of hunting down and killing the Brittle Brothers, a ruthless gang of killers whom only Django has seen. In return, Schultz will free Django from slavery completely and help rescue Broomhilda from the plantation of the charming but ruthless Francophile owner, Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio).

     Jack Reacher (previously titled One Shot) is a film adaptation of the 2005 novel One Shot by Lee Child. Written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the film stars Tom Cruise as the title character. The film entered production in October 2011, and concluded in January 2012. It was filmed entirely on location in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jack Reacher is scheduled to be released on December 21, 2012

Plot

     A city is thrown into chaos following a shooting that leaves five dead. What at first seems like a simple case to solve becomes complicated when the accused requests that Jack Reacher be put on the case.

     "One shot, one kill" is the military sniper's creed. A gunman fires into a rush hour crowd, murdering five victims with six shots. The evidence leads the police to James Barr, a former Army sniper. He's arrested but only says two things to the police: "'They got the wrong guy," and "'Get Jack Reacher for me.'" Reacher is a former Army Military Police officer, a drifter with no job, no car, no home, but with a sharp moral clarity in a modern climate of moral ambiguity. When Barr and Reacher were both in the military, Barr murdered four people during the Gulf War, similar to the recent shootout, and Barr had walked free on a technicality. Reacher swore he would track the sniper down if he ever tried it again.

     Reacher believes Barr is guilty but Barr's sister Rosemary is convinced her brother is innocent, enlisting young defense lawyer Helen Rodin against her D.A. father and a prosecution team that has a secret of its own. When Reacher arrives, Barr has been beaten so badly he can't remember anything about the day of the murders, leaving Reacher to form his own conclusions. Reacher knows the shooter missed one shot on purpose, giving Reacher one shot at the truth. Reacher goes to the sniper's practice range and learns some facts from Samuel Cash, the former U.S. Marine who owns the shooting range, which make him doubt the guilty airtight case against Barr. Cash is unwilling at first to reveal information or records to Reacher, but later on shows him 32 sheets from three years of target paper of Barr's practice at his range, every single sheet with dead-on maximum scores. Reacher adds Cash's information to the case evidence and his weaponry knowledge. Helen and Rosemary also analyze the clues and help convince Reacher that Barr could be innocent, which means someone set up Barr as the sniper. Someone is also trying to get Reacher off the case as he gets closer to the unseen enemy pulling the strings. During the investigation, Reacher clashes with a Russian gang, masquerading as legitimate businessmen. The gang's capo spent most of his life in the infamous Soviet Gulag and is known only as The Zec. Reacher is at his best under extreme stress and during battles, outwitting the mob guards in the Russian gang's fortress, efficiently and brutally dispatching five hoods before confronting the boss and forcing him to come clean on the whole scam and set-up.

     The Hobbit is a film series consisting of three epic fantasy-adventure films directed, co-written and produced by Peter Jackson and based on J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy novel of the same name. The films are, by subtitle, An Unexpected Journey (2012), The Desolation of Smaug (2013) and There and Back Again (2014).

     The series will act as a prequel trilogy to Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy and will star Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug, as well as several actors who will reprise their roles from The Lord of the Rings, including Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee, Ian Holm, Elijah Wood, and Orlando Bloom. Also returning for the production are a significant part of the production crew: among others, co-writers Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, illustrators John Howe and Alan Lee, art director Dan Hennah, and cinematographer Andrew Lesnie. As with the original trilogy, props will generally be crafted by Weta Workshop and visual effects managed by Weta Digital. Additionally, composer Howard Shore, who wrote the score for The Lord of the Rings, has confirmed his involvement in the first two parts of the film project.

Plot

     Jack Frost (Pine) is a carefree boy who has no responsibilities in the world aside from bringing winter wherever he goes. But everything changes when Pitch (Law), the Nightmare King, begins his plan to engulf the world in darkness. The Guardians, Santa Claus (Baldwin), the Tooth Fairy (Fisher), the Easter Bunny (Jackman) and the Sandman enlist Jack to join their group to stop Pitch and protect the children of the world.
